FDA says dental amalgam (silver fillings) are safe.
There have often been questions on how safe are silver fillings. The FDA and the ADA have come out with their findings. I will never suggest removing old silver fillings because they are unsafe. They should be replaced when they have decay around them, they are cracked or causing harm to the tooth. If you are interested in replacing your old silver fillings for cosmetic reasons please let us know. We have new procelain restorations that are strong and also beautiful.
The FDA said its decision was based on some 200 scientific studies of the material by government and independent organizations worldwide
